Bidarkas have an innate flexibility unfound in other crafts. Their multi-chined hulls, bifurcated bows and truncated sterns combine to make them exceptionally fast, seaworthy kayaks.

The Aleutian Bidarka is the oldest kayak design known. Its multi-chined hull is lashed with many lashings. These kayaks are built around the paddler's proportions. The Bidarka is an exciting and intricate kayak to build.
Bidarkas are excellent touring kayaks providing tremendous gear carrying capacity. Two students should attend to build a double or triple.
